Cathy has taught, prepared, and nurtured many students for over 30 years. Her studio is a place where she thrives in helping students find success, grow as musicians, gain confidence in performing, all the while connecting with her students on a personal level.

Cathy has a knack for teaching a “never ever” music student but also is highly qualified for training intermediate and advanced students.

Her expertise teaching style has placed her students in high realms in the music world with both local achievements (SDYS, honor bands, first chair placements, superior ratings at solo ensemble festivals) and around the country acceptances to elite masterclasses and entrances to top music schools such as Interlochen Center for the Arts.

Cathy has a Masters in Flute Performance from the University of Colorado where she studied with Maralyn Prestia. She is an active free-lancer, performing locally and afar.
