Christen is passionate about helping students discover and embrace what excites them and what they love. She loves helping students discover their voice and just what they’re capable of. She is particularly passionate about teaching students who think they “can’t sing” or can’t sing “well.” She truly believes that everyone can sing, it just takes time and practice (like everything else!), which is easy when you’re having fun!

Christen sees herself as a student of life; she is always learning. She recently earned her Masters in Opera Performance (with Honors) from the University of Kansas, which is where she learned that she genuinely loves teaching. Since then, she has worked tirelessly to expand what she has to offer students.

She has also learned to embrace the diversity of the music she loves. While she has focused on opera for the past 10 years, she has an incredible passion for musical theatre, film scores, and video games scores, and is excited to now be pursuing opportunities in those areas as well.
