Intro to Music - Guitar

La Jolla Music’s Intro to Music - Guitar course is a private, 1-on-1 class for beginners without previous experience playing guitar. It is a skills based learning course, rather than a time based course, intended to teach the fundamentals of playing guitar.

Students will be taught skills including guitar nomenclature, tablature, musical notes notation, basic music theory, chord charts, rhythm strumming, and other fundamentals.

The focus of the course is exposing, and teaching, the base knowledge for playing guitar. A student will learn the “how-to-play” guitar concepts, rather than refining their ability to play the guitar, or learning to play specific musical styles or genres.

After completion of the course, the continuing student should move on to a private guitar teacher that will work with the student on improving, and refining, the student’s technique, playing style, and overall musicianship.

The course fee is $150 per month, and may be started at any time of the month.
