Intro to Music - Piano

Please note that the minimum age for this course is 7 years old.

La Jolla Music’s Intro to Music - Piano course is a private, 1-on-1 class for beginners without previous experience playing piano. It is a skills based learning course, rather than a time based course, intended to teach the fundamentals of playing piano.

Students will be taught skills including piano nomenclature, musical notes notation, basic music theory, scales, basic chord structure, rhythmic patterns, and other fundamentals.

The focus of the course is exposing, and teaching, the base knowledge for playing piano. A student will learn the “how-to-play” piano concepts, rather than refining their ability to play the piano, or learning to play specific musical styles or genres.

After completion of the course, the continuing student should move on to a private piano teacher that will work with the student on improving, and refining, the student’s technique, playing style, and overall musicianship.

The course fee is $150 per month, and may be started at any time of the month.
