There is nothing better than seeing a new student's face light up and grin ear to ear when they start making music immediately! As an educated teacher and musician, John’s ultimate goal is to teach the student to have fun playing music and to demonstrate that anyone can begin to play their instrument after just one lesson. John teaches all styles and tailors lessons to include songs and styles that the student wants to learn to play, ensuring the process remains enjoyable and fulfilling. The student will be able to use the knowledge John teaches as a foundation from which they will be able to develop and express creativity.

John has been teaching and playing for over four decades. John studied at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles. He has played in multiple bands in San Diego, Los Angeles and Orange County with other musicians of varying fame. John’s teaching method is a product of many decades of playing and teaching experience, instilling encouragement, desire, discipline and determination. John is a native of La Jolla and you can catch him playing regularly at local farmer’s markets and restaurants.
