My favorite thing is that moment during a lesson where a concept a student has been studying finally clicks, and we’re able to take that vocal leap forward together! Whatever genre or style you’d like to study, my mission is to help you achieve the very best performance possible. I use a variety of techniques including vocal strength building, language coaching, historical performance practice, music theory study, and acting methods to help my students reach their singing goals.

Laurel grew up in La Jolla, and attended The Gillispie School, Muirlands Middle School, and The Bishop’s School. They first took music lessons at La Jolla Music when they were only six years old, and are thrilled to be continuing the musical tradition as a teacher in their home community! Laurel has a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Willamette University, and a Master of Music in Voice Performance from Carnegie Mellon.
