Terri Cannicott
Voice, Performance Technique
Terri is thrilled when students discover their voices and a love for singing. It is very important to her that students enjoy the process along the way. Her goal is to free their natural voice and increase volume, range, and stamina. Healthy vocal production is the backbone of any song style, and she is delighted to help students incorporate sound technical skills into songs. Terri loves to prepare students for auditions or performances where they concentrate on self-assurance and an exciting, genuine presentation of their song.
Terri has a B.A. in Music from UC Irvine and did graduate work in Opera Performance at CSU Northridge. She has performed with numerous companies in San Diego, Los Angeles, and New York City including the Old Globe Theatre, San Diego Opera (chorister), Moonlight Amphitheatre, Lawrence Welk Dinner Theater, Euterpe Opera, New Dramatists, and the William Hall Chorale (soloist). She has taught vocal technique and performance at San Diego City College and SDCC Continuing Education and was a Teaching Artist for the Old Globe Theatre.
